White designfloor from BARIT for the Changi Experience Studio at Singapore Airport.

A billiant white BARiT design flooring type: Elastic B 65 was installed for the new video installations. The design flooring runs along the floor and walls and is a seamless floor covering based on polyurethane resin. The Elastic B 65 design flooring has a silk-matt, full-tone finish for colour intensity and UV stability. The white covering offers high design quality and emphasises the visual requirements of the staging. The white covering has the advantage that the video installations are permanently visible.

The matt surface reflects the butterfly installations, as no stray light distracts from them. Seamless and weightless, the BARiT design flooring emphasises the museum-like design of the Changi Experience Studio at Singapore Airport. The flooring also impresses with its high mechanical load-bearing capacity and ease of cleaning in the face of constant high passenger traffic.

Changi Experience Studio at the airport Changi in Singapore

About 300,000 visitors visit one of the most important airports in the world, Changi Airport in Singapore, every day. The Jewel part of the airport was designed to maintain the airport's status as the most important air traffic hub in the Asia-Pacific region.

Jewel expanded the Terminal 1 arrivals hall and baggage claim by 70% and has a handling capacity of approximately 24 million passengers per year. Star architect Moshe Safdie not only planned a typical airport with check-in and arrivals, but his planning vision is: "Jewel interweaves the experience of nature and market, dramatically underlining the idea of the airport as an invigorating and vibrant urban hub that attracts travelers, visitors and residents, reflecting Singapore's reputation as a 'city in a garden.'" -Moshe Safdie

The new terminal houses various leisure attractions, shops, restaurants and a hotel. The futuristic building consists of a large glass dome and itself forms the centrepiece of the attractions. The roof curves inwards at the centre and merges into the centrepiece, the Rain Vortex indoor waterfall surrounded by forest. Since its opening, the waterfall has become the centrepiece of the attractions at Changi Airport.

In addition, other areas offer further attractions for visitors, guests and locals:

The Changi Experience Studio is a 3000 square metre space with interactive games and displays on the history of Changi Airport, offering visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the airport. An installation with butterflies, among other things, was chosen to create a connection to nature.
