floor description:
The electrically conductive ATEX-TERRAZZO was installed for the operation room of the modern operating theatre areas in the Mother and Child Centre of Kaiser-Franz-Joseph Hospital. The Epoxi Terrazzo has a conductivity according to DIN EN 1081 of ten to the power of four ohms to ten to the power of six ohms. The thickness of the OP covering is 7 - 8 mm and non-porous. The OP-TERRAZZO is particularly suitable for high mechanical demands, as required in hybrid ORs. For this purpose, Barit supplies cavity-free coving so that hygienic safety is ensured. The non-porous surface allows easy cleaning and disinfection. Blood and iodine stains can be removed from the floor. The operating theatre floor is low-maintenance, sustainable, approved by the building authorities and certified according to LEED and DGNB criteria, thus fulfilling all conditions of environmental and health protection.
project description:
For the new building of the Mother and Child Centre at the Kaiser-Franz-Joseph Hospital Favoriten in Vienna, Nickl und Partner Architekten chose a seamless surgical terrazzo. The grey grain harmonises with the blue walls of the operating theatre. Factors such as a high mechanical load for operating with mobile operating tables, as well as state-of-the-art OR robotics, were decisive for the choice of flooring. Seamless cleanroom floors were installed in the functional areas of the operating theatre as well as in the company pharmacy. The pore-free surface supports cleaning and disinfection and offers a high level of microbiological and hygienic safety for the operation of a state-of-the-art operating theatre.
